How to install CritiquePlus Comparator on WordPress

Follow the complete process from downloading the ZIP file to checking the plugin in your WordPress dashboard.

Installation takes place directly in your WordPress dashboard. You do not need to extract the ZIP file before uploading it.

Requirements

  • A website running WordPress 6.5 or later
  • PHP 8.1 or later on your hosting account
  • A WordPress administrator account allowed to install plugins
  • The official CritiquePlus Comparator ZIP file

1. Download the plugin file

Download CritiquePlus Comparator from the official source for your edition. The professional edition is available from your CritiquePlus account after purchase.

Keep the file in ZIP format. WordPress expects the complete archive and will not accept an already extracted folder through the plugin uploader.

Only use an archive supplied by CritiquePlus to receive an intact file and the updates planned for your edition.

2. Upload the ZIP file to WordPress

  1. Sign in to your WordPress administration area.
  2. Open Plugins, then select Add New Plugin.
  3. Select Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
  4. Choose the CritiquePlus Comparator ZIP file.
  5. Select Install Now and wait for WordPress to confirm the installation.

3. Activate CritiquePlus Comparator

When WordPress confirms that installation is complete, select Activate Plugin. You can also activate it later from Plugins > Installed Plugins.

After activation, CritiquePlus Comparator appears in the administration menu. The professional edition may then ask you to activate its license; that process is covered in the next guide.

4. Check that installation succeeded

  • CritiquePlus Comparator is listed as an active plugin.
  • The plugin menu opens without an error message.
  • The settings and category pages are available.
  • No PHP or WordPress compatibility warning is displayed.

What if WordPress rejects the ZIP file?

First check that you are uploading the plugin archive, that its size is within your host’s upload limit, and that your account has the Administrator role.

If the upload limit still blocks installation, extract the archive on your computer, transfer the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/ with your host’s file manager or an SFTP client, then activate it from WordPress.

Do not manually replace an active plugin folder without a backup. For updates, follow the dedicated guide to preserve your data.
